Bethany Hicks George

57, died Saturday November 26, 2011

at Conroe Medical Center in Conroe, Texas

after a brief illness and complications

during heart bypass surgery.

 

Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 16th

at Merkel First United Methodist Church with Pastor Rhonda Greenwood officiating, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.

Beth was born September 3, 1954 and was adopted by Ben Robert and Elizabeth (Stratton) Hicks of Merkel.

 

She graduated from Merkel High School and attended Tarleton State University. For 30 years, Beth lived in Houston

working for Top Tooling Inc. as the accounting administrator.

 

She loved country and western dancing, taking care

of her “girls” Sadie, Rosie, Shuggie and Missy, cooking for

her many friends and relaxing at her lake home at Harbor Point.

 

Beth was honored as a life time member of the

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLS&R)

for her many years of dedicated services.

 
Survivors include:

her brother, Gary Hicks and wife Robbie of Merkel

niece, Kelle Ratcliff and husband Derrick

nephew, Brad Hicks and wife Erin

great nephew, Landon Hicks all of Abilene

lifelong friends, A.J. Simpson, Mike Warren

Carol Whisenhunt, Whitney Petree, and Courtney Ramsey.
 

She was preceded in death by her loving parents

and her good friend, Chuck Ludwick.
